This is Bruce Jackson, Master Machinist since 1974. Soft spoken with a quick smile and eyes like a hawk. Bruce has been a fixture at US Bronze Foundry and Machine for nearly 50 years. He grew up just north of Syracuse near the St. Lawrence Seaway.
After losing his uncle in 1974, Bruce moved to Meadville to help his aunt and began working with us shortly after. He remembers feeling at home very quickly and enjoyed the challenging nature of the work in addition to the permanence of the castings he made. Bruce has six (6) siblings who have all retired and when I asked him why he had yet to do so, he smiled and said, “I’m passionate about my work. I enjoy this place and want to see it thrive.”
Bruce’s son Klay has also brought his talents here and we are fortunate to have them both on our team.
Pictured below, Bruce is working on one of several double flange bushings for MassDOT's new Belden Bly Drawbridge carrying Route 107 over the Saugus River between boston and salem. Just one of the myriad bridges for which we have designed and built custom bronze bearings with our sister company, Lubrite Technologies.
