Orville Bronze and Aluminum Company

A cornerstone of American metal casting since 1888, Orrville Bronze and Aluminum Company brings a rich legacy of excellence and innovation to the U.S. Bronze Foundry and Machine Inc. family. While originally founded in Orrville, Ohio, we now operate from our advanced facility within the U.S. Bronze complex in Meadville, Pennsylvania, continuing a long tradition of superior casting.

Our Heritage

With roots stretching back over 135 years, Orrville Bronze has built an enduring reputation specializing in high-quality castings using copper, aluminum, various bronzes (red, tin, yellow), and nickel-based alloys. Guided for over three generations by the Cairnie family, our company culture is steeped in the deep expertise and meticulous craftsmanship that customers rely on to meet even the most demanding specifications. This long-standing ethos forms the bedrock of our capabilities today.

Our History: A Story of Growth and Adaptation

Our journey reflects a commitment to resilience and progress. Robert R. Cairnie skillfully led the foundry through the Great Depression starting in 1934 and significantly expanded production during World War II, supplying critical military castings. By 1970, our capabilities had grown substantially, allowing for single pours of up to 11,000 pounds.

In April 2010, Orrville Bronze made the strategic move to Meadville, PA. This transition allowed us to integrate advanced technologies, such as the Hartley "Even-Flow" sand bin and PLC compactibility controls, further enhancing our processes. We also upgraded from traditional silica sand to the superior performance of Green Diamond Sand, ensuring better casting outcomes.
