The power generation industry utilizes a wide array of equipment, like generators, boilers, heat exchangers, gas and steam turbines, windmills, nuclear reactors, and solar arrays, to name a few. Sometimes the size, age, or location of these devices means custom parts are required for service.

U.S. Bronze Foundry & Machine manufactures power generation castings of any size, but our area of expertise is large cast products tailored to client specifications. We utilize static and centrifugal casting techniques and have the following capabilities:

  • Castings up to 35,000 pounds
  • Lengths of up to 80 inches for centrifugally cast parts
  • Outside diameters as large as 158 inches for centrifugally cast parts
  • No size limit for statically cast parts

An onsite machine shop enables us to deliver finished castings with precise dimensions. As a result, the lead time associated with secondary processing is eliminated. The shop contains advanced CNC equipment capable of machining workpieces with:

  • Outside diameters of 150 inches
  • Lengths of 80 inches 
  • Tolerances are +/- .001 inches

Materials that fit your requirements

Different types of bronze are used in power generation, including aluminum bronze, phosphor bronze, silicon bronze, manganese bronze, lead tin bronze, and tin bronze: 

  • Aluminum bronze: Used in hydroelectric plants, marine energy devices, and other applications. Aluminum bronze is strong, resistant to corrosion and biofouling, and has good fatigue resistance.
  • Phosphor bronze: Used in bushings for turbines, generators, and pumps. Phosphor bronze bushings are resistant to corrosion and wear, and have a high load capacity.
  • Silicon bronze: Used in power and energy industries, as well as in marine environments, refineries, and general construction. Silicon bronze is strong, durable, and resistant to corrosion.
